About the author
Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen grew up on a rural farm in the northern part of the country. He has an Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts and a bachelor’s degree in Applied Design and Photography. His diverse background shaped his unique perspective on food as both craft and art.
He worked as a contributing food editor for ELLE magazine in South Africa and later in Paris. After honing his skills and expanding his creative vision, he relocated to Nice, France, where he opened his own restaurant, JAN. Since its humble beginnings in 2013, JAN has built a stellar reputation as one of the top restaurants in the south of France.
This is Jan Hendrik’s second book, after the Klein JAN Cookbook. Through JAN Voyage, he continues to share his love for fine dining, culture and storytelling, inspiring readers to explore the world one flavour at a time.
