Applying Wisdom to Everyday Management
By Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño
In a business world where opinions have to be formed at a rapid pace, there is often little time for reflection.
Managers need to make decisions quickly, run meetings efficiently and drive innovation, so it seems counterintuitive to stop the clock and take time to think things through. Philosophy, on the other hand, addresses the basic questions of our existence and our role in the world.
Giving more meaning to management practices
By understanding philosophy, it becomes possible to give more meaning to our management practices and to business at large, while enhancing self-satisfaction and happiness at work.
Philosophy Inc. presents a collection of management ideas inspired by renowned philosophers as well as a series of business situations for analysing decisions from the perspective of values and principles. It tackles everyday issues from a manager’s point of view, such as imposter syndrome, how to gain respect at work or how to shrug off failure, and uses the wisdom of philosophers to provide answers.
Offering timeless advice that can be applied to one’s personal and professional development, this book is a useful resource for anyone who wants to add meaning to their management practices and their lives.
