About the author
Dr Mark Nasila is a luminary in AI and data science. He serves as the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at First National Bank. He also shares his expertise at the Singularity Group, where he specialises in AI, data science and data strategies. In addition, he is a leading member of the National Institute for Theoretical Physics and Computational Sciences (NITheCS), a research fellow at Stellenbosch University and a Professor of Practice in AI at the University of Johannesburg.
Dr Nasila’s innovative approach at FNB has transformed risk management and forensic due diligence through advanced AI systems. His work has set new benchmarks in banking technology.
His academic achievements include a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Nelson Mandela University and participation in the SingularityU South Africa Executive Programme. Dr Nasila’s contributions to technology and innovation have earned widespread recognition. He was named among the 2020 Global Top 100 Innovators in Data and Analytics by Corinium Global Intelligence.
