An autobiography

By Bonang Francis Mohale

From Daveyton to Davos, Professor Bonang Francis Mohale has defied the odds. He challenged the status quo and used every opportunity to shape his own path. More than that, he chose to take as many people as possible along with him.

After writing two books on business, leadership and ethics, he now turns inward. He puts pen to paper to share a more personal story, Coming in from the Cold, which captures his life journey with honesty and depth.

A window into the author’s private world

In Coming in from the Cold, Bonang reflects on the experiences, decisions, principles and people that shaped his life. He explores the good, the bad, the joyful and the painful. With thoughtful vulnerability, he opens a window into his private world.

Bonang recalls a childhood enriched by his grandmother’s proverbs. He also remembers meeting Susan, his lifelong love, in high school. They married when he was only 17. These moments anchor the emotional heart of Coming in from the Cold, which highlights his resilience and devotion to family.

For the first time, he speaks openly about his philosophies on family and parenting. He also describes the intense fear of poverty that fuelled his career ambitions. Along the way, he shares the memories he holds most dear. As he reflects on the critical forks in the road that shaped his rise from the township outskirts of Benoni, he offers valuable insights. These pearls of wisdom guide those who wish to learn from his legacy.
