About the author

Dr Morne Mostert is an international advisor on strategic foresight and executive decision-making with extensive global experience. He has undertaken assignments in cities like Geneva, Paris, London, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Melbourne, Baku and Tokyo. His work spans multiple economic hubs across Africa and the Middle East, showcasing his broad expertise.

President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed him as Commissioner on the National Planning Commission. There, he advises on economic futures, internationalisation and climate change. Additionally, Dr. Mostert is a member of the renowned international think tank, the Club of Rome.

His multi-award-winning thought leadership has been published internationally. He is also a regular contributor to the business media on longer-term policy and strategy. Dr Mostert served on the International Labour Organisation (ILO) expert panel on the Future of Work, enhancing his global influence.

He was Director of the Institute for Futures Research and served on the board of the Bureau for Economic Research. With a PhD in Technology and Innovation, Dr Mostert invented the Mindset Index. This tool is a world-first in scientifically assessing strategic mindsets.
