About the author
Ashraf Kagee is a psychologist, academic, and writer. He received major literary recognition for his debut novel, Khalil’s Journey.
The novel won both the European Union Literary Award and the South African Literary Award. His second novel, By the Fading Light, also received critical acclaim. It was nominated for the SA Literary Award for Youth Literature. He works as Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Stellenbosch University.
