Study shows more than 85% of surveyed South African shoppers say retailers need to get better at giving them the products, service and experience they want. South Africans surveyed form part of a study of over 30,000 global online consumers from 18 countries. 

Our 2020 Global Entrepreneurship Survey found that entrepreneurs who had a website were less likely to close their businesses during COVID-19 lockdowns than those without one. We also discovered that those with a website were more optimistic about future growth, with 31 percent projecting growth of at least 50 percent versus only 23 percent of those without a website.

Free delivery has been the most powerful drawcard for retailers to attract customers to their online stores and undoubtedly, the most successful online marketing tool ever devised for ecommerce. However, this is changing, retailers are starting to offer faster deliveries to attract customers to their online store and this poses a different set of cost challenges.
