There is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding when it comes to medical aid versus medical insurance, and where hospital plans fit in, and this can make it difficult to decide what the best solution is to meet your needs. A recent judgment in the Supreme Court of Appeal has reconfirmed that the duty of debarring representatives, who do not meet the requirement of a ‘fit and proper’ person as prescribed in the FAIS Act, falls fairly and squarely on the shoulders of financial services providers (FSPs).

Regulating cryptocurrencies is the next logical step as the asset class gains popularity and consumer protections become necessary.
