By Ntando Rambani, with Zibu Sithole

From One Mother to Another is an honest, deeply personal reflection on motherhood, healing, and self-discovery.

Ntando Rambani draws from her own experiences to examine the challenges of raising children while confronting the wounds of her past. The book offers reassurance to parents who struggle with expectations, uncertainty and the desire to create a better family environment.

Growing up amid violence and emotional absence shaped Rambani’s understanding of love and parenting. As an adult, she began a difficult process of unlearning old patterns and confronting herself under public scrutiny. Her journey provides the foundation for From One Mother to Another, which replaces the polished image of perfect parenting with a more authentic reality.

Healing while raising a family

From One Mother to Another explores the emotional demands of becoming the parent you once needed. Rambani acknowledges that healing does not happen separately from everyday family life. Instead, parents often heal while raising children, making difficult choices and confronting their own histories.

The book challenges the Instagram-perfect version of motherhood. It recognises exhaustion, uncertainty and imperfection while celebrating warmth, safety and joy. More importantly, it encourages readers to examine the patterns they inherited and decide which ones they want to carry forward.

Rambani writes with vulnerability but also with purpose. Her experiences create opportunities for reflection rather than simply recounting personal struggles. Consequently, From One Mother to Another becomes both a memoir and a source of encouragement for parents seeking greater intentionality.

The book will particularly resonate with mothers who have experienced difficult childhoods or complicated family relationships. It also speaks to anyone determined to build a healthier home despite challenging circumstances. Ultimately, From One Mother to Another reminds readers that parenting can become an opportunity to rewrite family narratives and create meaningful change.
