When a financial institution moves Jira, Confluence, or Jira Service Management into the cloud, part of the operational burden shifts to the provider. Atlassian runs the platform and maintains the underlying infrastructure. Meanwhile, the customer gains the service capabilities that come with software as a service (SaaS). However, moving to the cloud does not eliminate the institution’s responsibility to manage technology risks and meet regulatory requirements.

South Africa’s founder-led tech ecosystem is deeper than it has ever been, but it is still structurally thin at scale. The most recent data tells a clear story. The Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association 2025 VC Industry Survey recorded R13.35 billion in active venture capital investments across 1,325 deals. ICT accounted for nearly two-thirds of total deal value.

Today, just over 60% of Nigerians have access to grid-connected electricity. Even those who do often endure erratic service. The country’s National Bureau of Statistics reports that the average daily supply stands at less than seven hours. Yet, as Albert Einstein famously said: “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”. In Nigeria’s case, the convergence of renewable energy, digital innovation and Software as a Service (SaaS) can establish an energy landscape built on reliability and long-term sustainability.
