Though most people don’t realise it, much of the technology we use every day relies on open source software. Many of today’s phones, cars, and IoT devices use the open source Linux kernel operating system as well as over 60% of the world’s websites that run on Apache and Nginx web servers.

Legacy and cloud-native tech can complement each other for a more productive business and happier customers. For financial services firms and insurers, the customer relationship is built on trust earned over many years. In turn, these businesses have to be able to trust their foundational IT systems to deliver the requisite uptime, performance, and security.

I feel so grateful to have a career in technology: a career in which change has been the only constant, keeping every day exciting and relevant. Arguably, the biggest change I am seeing right now has less to do with actual technology, and more to do with culture.
