E-commerce, e-tail or online shopping – whatever you call it, its adoption among South Africans has almost reached ubiquity, sitting steady at 6% of the total retail pie (on and offline purchasing), with 86% of online consumers (49% of which have a household income of less than R10,000.00 per month) reporting that they have purchased online. This is according to the sixth annual South African Customer Experience Report.

Around 80% of smart phone owners use navigation applications regularly. In fact, many of us are so used to using these navigation tools, we even use them when familiar with our planned destination. For something so ingrained in our day to day lives, few of us have really stopped to think what these navigation apps are doing.

While we have had a smattering of robot cleaners arriving on these shores in recent years, with brands ranging from Hobot to Xiaomi, something was missing before iRobot officially entered South Africa last month with its Roomba range.
