According to our survey, overwhelming majority of South African companies concerned about cloud security. In a local survey of 500 CTOs, Directors, C-suite respondents and business owners, we reveal that 89% of South African business leaders view cloud security as a major concern.

There is no greater threat to South African businesses than load shedding. It is that simple and that stark. It touches every aspect of us as a nation, as a people and as industries attempting to stabilise and grow the country. It is the most disruptive challenge of our generation.

Businesses are increasingly moving to the cloud, not only to survive potential business disruptions, but to take advantage of the scalability, remote work enablement and cost efficiencies. Their investments into the cloud will help them refine and reimagine their digital strategies with an eye on remote productivity, sustainability, and security.

Moving to the cloud is a huge decision, many factors need to be considered but ultimately, it's a smart move. Those who have already embraced cloud are thriving and the rest are dying. It not only empowers businesses, but does away with high costs associated with owning and maintaining on-premise hardware.

The world has changed in many respects in recent years, and with this there has also been a significant change in the way we do business. It is this change that has been driving the rapid adoption of cloud technologies – a trend that was hugely accelerated by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Cloud adoption, including hybrid and multi-cloud adoption is expanding fast among both private and public sector organisations of all sizes. At the enterprise level, we estimate that two-thirds of companies globally already use multiple clouds.
