EDITORIAL GUIDELINES

BusinessBrief is a print and digital MANAGEMENT magazine that provides decision-makers with information needed to make better decisions.

The publication has TWELVE regular sections as listed below. Articles are published in the print and digital magazine as well as on the bbrief website.

Articles cover information from recent legislation and court precedent through to new thinking, business methodologies, handy hints and survey information.

When submitting editorial for publishing, please keep in mind the following important guidelines:

  • Full page article length 500 – 550 words;
  • Half page article length 250 – 300 words;
  • The editor will edit for style and will cut excess copy if required.
  • AVOID legalese and technical jargon where possible.
  • EXCLUSIVITY will result in an article being given a higher priority for publication.
  • STYLE should be concise and to the point. Devices such as checklists or graphs work well as they enable the reader to find important information quickly.
  • Articles should be generic, rather than company specific. Contributors will be credited, but should NOT punt any product or service.
  • We cannot guarantee that contributions will be used, or when they will appear.
  • It is important that there is a common style throughout the publication, so we edit articles to suit this style. We reserve the right to cut, copy, rewrite, or change the articles submitted for publication.
  • In order to increase SEO visibility, we recommend that all submissions use keywords that relate to the article in the introductory and concluding paragraphs.

With regard to advertising and editorial, we do NOT accept advertising in our publication with a pre-condition that there will be editorial. Editorial is published on merit and at no cost to the contributor.

In addition, should a contributor wish to advertise in the same edition in which an article is appearing, the placement of the advert will not be near the article. This is done so that readers do not perceive the editorial as advertorial.

CPD QUESTIONS

  • Our content is used by a number of Professional Bodies and other organisations for the purposes of CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
  • If articles are submitted with one or two multiple choice questions, these may then be used for this purpose on the bbrief website. By supplying questions, the ‘educational’ value of the content becomes apparent resulting in less superfluous verbiage.
