There are confined spaces in many industrial workplaces and the term 'confined space' is mainly used to describe items such as, vaults, cellars, mine shafts, tunnels and ducting, basically an area large enough for a person to enter to perform tasks. A confined space is also an area that is shut off from the rest of the world because it is not designed or configured for continuous occupancy and has limited or restricted means of entry or exit.
