Eversheds appoints a new chairman
Lavery Modise
Outgoing chairman Derek Rabin who extended his intial contract from 6 to 18 months, will be stepping down and handing over to Lavery Modise.
At the same time May-Elaine Thomson, currently chief operating officer, will become the new CEO, and financial manager Paul Labuschagne will be promoted to chief financial officer.
This makes it two firsts for Eversheds: Lavery is the firm's first black chairman and May-Elaine the first female CEO of a major full-service law firm in South Africa. All appointments wull be effective 1 April 2012
